The decade prior to finding this vocation was spent working in & managing teams in the restaurant and event/catering industries, after having earned my degree in Energy and Environmental Policy from the University of Delaware. In time, I have come to learn that the common thread shared by this career and those seemingly disparate pursuits are the opportunities each provide to make substantive improvements through education: whether by reducing environmental footprint and energy insecurity through consumer-side decision making; improving shift logistics, profitability and culture through systems management & process implementation; or coaching a client through their specific fitness journey to achieve their goals and self-betterment. All emphasize the value of the Teachable Moment. I constantly seek out those opportunities autodidactically, and am happiest in my work when I can educate others in turn.
After experiencing a loss in my family in early 2020, I spent time soul-searching for my why, and found in that self-exploration a core desire to, above all else, help others. Having been a lifelong weight room enthusiast - and being in the middle of the worst public health crisis in 100 years - I saw an opportunity to learn more about a passion I already had, and help others as I was able. I never anticipated how rewarding this work would turn out to be - nor how fortunate I would feel to be able to share in the trials, tribulations, improvements & successes of my clients.
I have been working as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2020 and a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach since 2022. A lifelong weightlifting enthusiast, I expanded my original scope of focus from aesthetics and strength training to pursue continuing education in the areas most impactful to many of my clients: pre + postnatal fitness, coaching for long-term weight management & training females through different life stages.
This has enabled me to help clients achieve notable successes in muscular development, aerobic endurance, strength & conditioning, sports performance, weight management, balance & mobility, resilient aging, fuand event-specific competition.
Creating resilient & dynamic programs for my clients is my top priority: the most successful plans are the ones that can be most consistently implemented. There’s no such thing as a perfect week; therefore, your program should account for & adapt to the most frequent contingencies in your life. Fundamentally, helping others is what I find most rewarding, and this vocation provides me with daily opportunities to do so - for which I am beyond grateful.
When not coaching or working out, I can be found organizing board game nights & trivia with friends, enjoying NFL games (especially my hometown team, the Philadelphia Eagles!), voraciously consuming educational content, and occasionally - writing.
If you’d like to share your fitness goals with someone, you’ll find in me an active and interested listener.
